Begin your Xi'an adventure in the heart of the historic city. Visit the Bell Tower, one of Xi'an's most recognizable landmarks, before walking toward the nearby Drum Tower. These iconic Ming Dynasty landmarks provide a perfect introduction to Xi'an's long history as one of China's great ancient capitals.
Enjoy a traditional Xi'an lunch featuring roujiamo (Chinese-style meat burger) and biangbiang noodles, two of the city's signature dishes. For an authentic local dining option near the Bell Tower area, 樊记腊汁肉 is known for its traditional roujiamo.
Continue to the Xi'an City Wall, one of the best-preserved ancient city walls in China. The present Ming Dynasty wall stretches approximately 13.7 km around the historic city center. Take a leisurely walk along the wall or rent a bicycle for a more memorable experience. From the top, you can enjoy views of traditional city gates, historic neighborhoods and the modern skyline.
Head to the Muslim Quarter, one of Xi'an's most famous food districts. Wander through Beiyuanmen, Xiyangshi and surrounding lanes, where food stalls and traditional shops create a lively atmosphere. The area is particularly famous for yangrou paomo (lamb and bread soup), lamb skewers, stuffed buns, noodles, persimmon cakes and other Shaanxi specialties.
Spend the evening sampling several small dishes instead of having a single large meal. This creates a fun food-tour experience and allows travelers to discover different flavors of Xi'an.
After breakfast, travel to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum in Lintong.
Explore the archaeological site and its famous excavation pits, where thousands of life-size terracotta soldiers, horses and chariots were buried more than 2,000 years ago to protect Qin Shi Huang, China's first emperor. The Terracotta Army is regarded as one of the world's most remarkable archaeological discoveries.
Allow approximately 3–4 hours for the visit.
Enjoy a traditional Shaanxi-style lunch after visiting the Terracotta Warriors. Depending on availability and preference, try local specialties such as yangrou paomo, hand-pulled noodles, dumplings or other regional dishes.
Return to central Xi'an and visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, an iconic Buddhist monument dating back to the Tang Dynasty. Built in 652 AD, it was associated with the monk Xuanzang and the transmission of Buddhist scriptures from India to China.
Explore the surrounding Da Ci'en Temple area and enjoy the contrast between Xi'an's ancient heritage and its modern cultural districts.
Take a leisurely walk through the Tang-style streets around the pagoda. Traditional architecture, cultural displays, shops and local snacks create an atmospheric ending to your Xi'an experience.
For travelers who want a deeper cultural experience, upgrade the evening with a Tang Dynasty cultural performance and dumpling banquet, combining traditional music, dance, costumes and regional cuisine.
Tour ends with return to your hotel in Xi'an.
