Day 1 – Hangzhou: West Lake Cruise, Tea Villages & Old Streets

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Our guide will recommend authentic local restaurants with traditional cuisine and regional flavors.

We pick you up in the morning from your hotel or airport—no stress, no puzzle-solving with taxis, just a comfortable private car and your guide already chatting with you like an old friend who knows where the good views are.

We start at the soul of Hangzhou—West Lake. But we don't just "see" it, we float into it. On the boat, your guide will quietly point out which pavilion inspired ancient poems and which reflection locals still argue is the most beautiful. It's calm, cinematic, and slightly unreal in the best way. While others rush through photo stops, you're drifting through a living watercolor painting.

Next, we slip into Guozhuang, a place most visitors accidentally walk past without realizing they missed a gem. This is where Hangzhou whispers instead of shouts. Your guide brings the place alive with stories of old scholars, hidden courtyards, and why this garden was designed more for thinking than showing off. You'll probably start walking slower without noticing—it happens to everyone.

Lunch time, but not in a rushed restaurant queue. We head to Meijiawu, where tea farmers still treat Longjing leaves like a craft, not a product. You'll sit down for a simple but deeply local farm-style lunch, surrounded by tea terraces. Your guide will walk you through how to "drink tea properly". It's relaxed, fragrant, and surprisingly grounding. After lunch, instead of immediately leaving, your experience continues at a slower pace. Your guide invites you to explore the tea village further—walking through plantations, observing tea roasting methods, and optionally joining a relaxed tea-making experience with local farmers.

In the afternoon, we continue to Yunqi Bamboo Path, where the scenery shifts from tea fields to deep bamboo forest. The transition feels almost cinematic—light changes, sound softens, and the air becomes noticeably cooler. Your guide leads you along shaded paths while sharing stories about how locals use this area for reflection and mental escape. There's no rush here. No performance. Just a quiet walk where even footsteps feel optional.

Before ending the day, we head into Hefang Street, where Hangzhou switches gears again. Ancient pharmacy signs, snack stalls, and small handicrafts sit side by side. Your guide will quietly steer you away from tourist traps and toward the real local snacks worth trying. Dinner here is flexible—you can explore street food with guidance or sit down for a relaxed local restaurant before heading back to rest.

After your final stop at Hefang Street, we arrange a direct private transfer, allowing you to simply relax in the car while the city lights of Hangzhou slowly pass by outside. If you have any special plans for the evening, your guide will also be happy to assist with recommendations or arrangements before drop-off. Luggage help, hotel coordination, and any small travel needs are all taken care of along the way. The idea is simple: Day 1 doesn't end with fatigue—it ends with ease, where everything is handled quietly and professionally so you can fully unwind.

Day 2 – Hangzhou to Shanghai by Private car: Old Shanghai, French Concession & The Bund

Accommodation Accommodation:
N/A (Flexible, can be included based on your needs)
MealMeal:
Our guide will recommend authentic local restaurants with traditional cuisine and regional flavors.

After breakfast, your private guide and driver are already waiting at your hotel—no calls, no coordination stress, everything is on time and prepared. We leave Hangzhou comfortably and head toward Shanghai, where the scenery gradually shifts from quiet waterways to one of Asia's most dynamic skylines. Along the way, your guide will set the tone for the day, sharing stories about Shanghai's evolution from traditional water town roots to a global metropolis.

Our first stop brings you into the heart of old Shanghai at Yu Garden, where traditional Chinese landscape design unfolds in the middle of modern urban density. Your guide doesn't simply point out architecture—they decode it. Every rock formation, corridor turn, and koi-filled pond reflects symbolic meanings from classical philosophy and merchant-era storytelling. Instead of rushing through photo spots, your guide carefully leads you through quieter angles of the garden, helping you notice how space, water, and structure were designed to create harmony rather than display. It's a moment where Shanghai's historical identity quietly reveals itself before the city's modern energy takes over.

Stepping out from the garden, we enter the lively surrounding area of the City God Temple Old Street, where incense smoke, snack stalls, and traditional shops create a vivid contrast to the calm we just experienced. This is where your guide becomes your "local filter," helping you avoid tourist-heavy traps and guiding you directly toward authentic Shanghai street snacks and regional specialties.

Lunch is arranged here in a carefully selected local restaurant based on your preference—whether you want something light and traditional or a more comfortable sit-down experience. Your guide will assist with ordering, explain local dishes in context, and make sure the meal feels relaxed rather than overwhelming, especially in such a lively environment.

In the afternoon, the pace slows again as we enter the French Concession, one of Shanghai's most atmospheric districts. Tree-lined streets, old villas, and hidden cafés create a completely different rhythm from the morning's bustle. Here, your guide transforms the walk into a narrative journey—sharing stories of early 20th-century expatriates, local cultural shifts, and how this area became Shanghai's most livable contradiction.

Rather than a fixed route, your walk is adjusted in real time based on your interests—whether you prefer architecture, lifestyle photography spots, or simply a quiet café break. This is where the private tour Shanghai experience truly feels personal and flexible.

As afternoon slowly turns toward evening, we arrive at the Bund—one of the few places where Shanghai's past and future stand face to face without compromise. Your guide will lead you along the waterfront at a carefully chosen timing, when the light is soft enough to reveal every architectural detail yet warm enough to make the skyline feel alive. On one side, the historic buildings of the Bund quietly reflect Shanghai's early days as a trading port, carrying a sense of grounded elegance. On the opposite bank, the towers of Pudong rise in sharp contrast, glass and steel capturing the city's ambition in full display. It is here that Shanghai stops being just a destination and becomes a feeling—layered, reflective, and quietly powerful.

We continue into Nanjing Road, where Shanghai turns fully electric. Neon lights, department stores, and endless movement create a lively finale to the day. Your guide helps you navigate the energy comfortably, pointing out interesting local brands, historical storefronts, and hidden side streets that most visitors overlook. Dinner here is flexible and unhurried—your guide can recommend trusted local restaurants depending on your taste, whether you prefer Shanghai cuisine, casual dining, or something international after a full day of exploration.

As the journey comes to a close, we fully adapt to your travel plan. You may choose a comfortable private transfer back to your hotel in Hangzhou, or stay overnight in Shanghai to continue exploring the city at your own pace.

As the day comes to a natural close, your private guide and driver will coordinate everything seamlessly based on your onward travel plans—so you never need to think about logistics at any point. Whether you are drawn by Shanghai's skyline and decide to stay an extra night to explore it further, or prefer to return to Hangzhou on the same day, we are fully able to coordinate the entire arrangement smoothly for you. Your guide remains on standby to adjust timing, handle luggage, and align all transfer details with your schedule in real time. There is no fixed ending pressure—only a quiet, well-managed transition into whatever comes next. This is where the experience stays truly personal: flexible, responsive, and entirely centered around your comfort.

This private 2-day journey connects the two most iconic sides of eastern China in one seamless experience. In Hangzhou, slow down among West Lake views, tea villages, bamboo paths, and old streets filled with local character. Then shift into the energy of Shanghai, where classical gardens, the French Concession, the Bund, and glowing city lights reveal a completely different rhythm of life. With your own private guide and driver throughout the trip, every part of the experience is arranged around comfort, flexibility, and genuine local insight. From smooth hotel transfers to carefully paced sightseeing and personalized recommendations, the journey flows naturally without feeling rushed. Rather than simply visiting two cities, this shanghai hangzhou tour is designed to let you experience the contrast between tradition and modernity in a more personal and immersive way.

Perfect Balance of Culture, Food and Nature

This was one of our favorite trips in China.
The itinerary had a very good balance. We started with the busy energy of Guangzhou, then moved into quieter places like Chikan Ancient Town and Kaiping's villages, before finishing with the amazing scenery at Gulong Gorge.
We especially enjoyed the food experiences. The Shunde dinner was unforgettable — simple ingredients but incredible flavors. We also appreciated that our driver suggested local restaurants instead of tourist places.
The best part was the flexibility. Some days we wanted to explore more, and some days we needed a slower pace. The team was very understanding and never made us feel rushed.
Highly recommended for travelers who want to see the authentic side of Guangdong.

A Perfect First Journey to China

China had been on our travel list for years, but planning a two-week trip across such a large country felt overwhelming. This tour made everything simple.
The route was excellent — Beijing and the Great Wall were incredible, Xi’an and the Terracotta Warriors were unforgettable, and Zhangjiajie was probably the biggest surprise of the trip. Seeing the mountains covered in mist felt like walking into another world.
What impressed us most was the organization. Every airport and train station transfer was arranged smoothly, and every guide was already waiting when we arrived. We never had to worry about finding transportation or buying tickets.
We especially enjoyed the slower moments in Hangzhou and Suzhou. After so many famous landmarks, walking beside West Lake and through ancient water towns gave us a completely different feeling of China.
A wonderful balance of history, nature, and culture.

Beautiful Landscapes Without the Travel Stress

Guizhou looks amazing in photos, but experiencing it in person was even better. The mountains, rivers, and waterfalls were unforgettable. What we liked most was how easy everything felt. We did not have to worry about finding buses, buying tickets, or planning routes between attractions. The team handled everything, and we could simply enjoy the views. The itinerary was full but never exhausting. A very well-designed private tour.

Thank you, Linnea. We believe a good private tour should allow guests to focus on the experience rather than the logistics. We are delighted that you could enjoy Guizhou's beauty in a comfortable and stress-free way.

A relaxed introduction to Guiyang beyond the usual tourist spots

We booked this 2-day Guiyang tour because we wanted to see more than just the famous places in Guizhou. The itinerary was very well balanced.
Qingyan Ancient Town was definitely the highlight for us — walking through the old stone streets in the morning felt like stepping into another era. We also loved Qianling Park. We didn't expect to see so many monkeys so close in a city park! Our guide explained how to enjoy the experience safely and also showed us some quieter viewpoints away from the crowds.
The private car service made everything much easier, especially because we were traveling with luggage between hotels. The team was responsive before the tour and checked in with us throughout the trip. A great way to discover Guiyang at a comfortable pace.
