Day 1 | Shanghai Arrival: Private Transfer to Suzhou by Car

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Your China adventure begins in Shanghai. Upon arrival at Shanghai airport or train station, your private guide and driver will warmly welcome you and assist with your luggage.

After meeting your guide, you will head directly to Suzhou by private car instead of staying in Shanghai on your first day. This carefully planned arrangement helps you save valuable travel time and allows you to begin your journey in the peaceful atmosphere of Jiangnan. The drive from Shanghai to Suzhou takes around 1–1.5 hours, and along the way, your guide will introduce the local culture, history, and highlights you will experience in the following days.

Upon arrival in Suzhou, enjoy a comfortable lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant. We choose authentic restaurants that allow you to experience traditional Suzhou flavors while keeping the schedule relaxed after your arrival.

In the afternoon, take some time to settle into your hotel and explore the nearby area at your own pace. Your guide will assist with hotel check-in and make sure everything is arranged smoothly, allowing you to rest and adjust after your journey.

As the first stop of your China adventure, Suzhou offers a gentle introduction to the beauty of East China — quiet canals, traditional architecture, and the elegant lifestyle that has inspired poets and artists for centuries.

Day 2 | Suzhou: Humble Administrator's Garden, Pingjiang Road, Lingering Garden & Water Town

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast at your hotel, your Suzhou exploration begins. Suzhou is famous for its classical gardens, where every rock, pond, pavilion, and plant was carefully designed to create harmony between humans and nature. Unlike large royal gardens in Beijing, Suzhou gardens reflect the private world of ancient scholars — peaceful, elegant, and full of artistic details.

Your first stop is Humble Administrator's Garden, the largest and one of the most beautiful gardens in Suzhou. Your guide will explain the hidden meanings behind the garden design and help you discover details that are easy to miss when visiting on your own.

Continue to Pingjiang Road, a historic canal-side neighborhood that preserves the traditional lifestyle of old Suzhou. Here you can walk along stone-paved streets, see traditional houses beside the water, and enjoy the atmosphere of a city that has remained almost unchanged for centuries.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Lingering Garden, another masterpiece of Suzhou garden architecture. Compared with Humble Administrator's Garden, Lingering Garden is more compact and artistic, famous for its beautiful corridors, rock formations, and delicate design.

In the afternoon, you will visit Tongli Water Town (or another nearby water town depending on your preference). Away from the crowds, you can experience traditional bridges, canals, and riverside houses that represent the classic Jiangnan lifestyle. Your guide will adjust the pace according to your interests, whether you prefer photography, history, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk.

Return to your Suzhou hotel in the evening.

Day 3 | Suzhou to Huangshan by High-Speed Train: Huangshan Mountain Hiking & Mountain-top Stay

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your driver will transfer you to Suzhou train station. Your guide will assist you with the high-speed train boarding process and luggage arrangements. Take a comfortable high-speed train ride to Huangshan (approximately 3 hours). Along the way, you'll watch the scenery gradually change from Jiangnan water landscapes to rolling mountains and countryside.

Upon arrival, your local Huangshan guide will meet you at the station and transfer you to the mountain entrance.

Before hiking, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant near the scenic area. We arrange the timing carefully because entering Huangshan Mountain requires coordination with cable car schedules and walking routes.

After taking the cable car up the mountain, your adventure begins.

Huangshan is famous for its "Four Wonders": strange pine trees, spectacular granite peaks, seas of clouds, and hot springs. As you walk along the mountain paths, every turn reveals a different landscape — mist floating between peaks, ancient pine trees growing from cliffs, and endless mountain views.

We arrange your overnight stay inside Huangshan Scenic Area, allowing you to avoid the inconvenience of traveling down the mountain at night. Staying on the mountain also gives you the precious opportunity to experience sunrise the next morning.

Your guide will help you settle into the mountain hotel and explain the best sunrise viewing location based on weather conditions.

Day 4 | Huangshan: Sunrise Viewing & Hongcun Village → Hangzhou by High-Speed Train

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today begins with one of the highlights of your entire journey — Huangshan sunrise. Wake up early and follow your guide to one of the best sunrise viewpoints. Watching the first sunlight illuminate the mountain peaks and clouds is an unforgettable experience and one of the reasons Huangshan is considered one of China's most beautiful landscapes.

After breakfast, continue exploring Huangshan's famous scenic areas, including iconic viewpoints and mountain paths. Your guide will choose the route based on your physical condition and interests, making sure you enjoy the scenery without unnecessary exhaustion.

Descend the mountain by cable car and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Hongcun Ancient Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its white-walled houses, peaceful waterways, and beautiful countryside setting. Walking through Hongcun feels like stepping into an ancient Chinese painting. Your guide will explain the unique Huizhou architecture and the traditional lifestyle behind these preserved buildings.

Later, transfer to Huangshan train station and take a high-speed train to Hangzhou. Upon arrival in Hangzhou, your driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 5 | Hangzhou: West Lake, Longjing Tea Village & Lingyin Temple → Shanghai by High-Speed Train

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, begin exploring Hangzhou — a city famous for its natural beauty and relaxed lifestyle.

Your first stop is West Lake, the symbol of Hangzhou. Rather than simply visiting viewpoints, your guide will help you experience the lake like a local. Take a peaceful walk along the lakeside paths, enjoy views of bridges, pagodas, and mountains reflected in the water. Depending on the season, you may also enjoy a boat ride across the lake to appreciate the scenery from a different perspective.

Continue to Longjing Tea Village, located among green hills beside West Lake. Here you can learn about China's famous Dragon Well tea, visit tea fields, and enjoy a cup of fresh local tea in a traditional tea house.

After lunch featuring Hangzhou specialties, visit Lingyin Temple & Feilai Peak, one of the most important Buddhist cultural sites in China. The combination of ancient temples, forest scenery, and stone carvings creates a peaceful atmosphere away from the city.

In the late afternoon, your driver will transfer you to Hangzhou train station. Take a short high-speed train ride to Shanghai.

Upon arrival, your Shanghai driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 6 | Shanghai: Yu Garden, French Concession, Tianzifang & The Bund

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast at your hotel, your Shanghai exploration begins with a journey through the city's fascinating contrasts — from traditional Chinese gardens and historic neighborhoods to the modern skyline that defines Shanghai today.

Your first stop is Yu Garden, a beautifully preserved classical garden dating back to the Ming Dynasty. Hidden among the busy streets of the old city, this peaceful garden feels like a completely different world. As you walk through the winding corridors, elegant pavilions, and carefully designed rockeries, your guide will share the stories behind the garden's unique layout and explain how traditional Chinese gardens reflect the philosophy of balance between nature and architecture.

Next, take a short walk to the nearby City God Temple area, one of the best places to experience the old Shanghai atmosphere. The traditional streets, local shops, and historic buildings offer a glimpse into the city's past, where commerce and daily life have existed side by side for hundreds of years.

After exploring the old town, enjoy lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant. Your guide will recommend authentic Shanghai dishes based on your preferences, allowing you to experience the city's famous flavors without spending time searching for restaurants.

In the afternoon, continue to the Former French Concession, one of Shanghai's most charming areas. Unlike the fast-paced financial district, this neighborhood is known for its tree-lined streets, historic villas, and quiet lanes. Walking through the former residential areas, you'll discover another side of Shanghai — elegant, relaxed, and full of stories from the city's international past.

Continue to Tianzifang, a lively arts and culture district developed from traditional Shikumen (stone-gate) houses. Here, narrow alleyways are filled with small galleries, creative shops, cafés, and local handicraft stores. It is a great place to slow down, take photos, and experience how old Shanghai architecture blends with modern creativity.

As the day comes to an end, head to The Bund, Shanghai's most iconic waterfront. Standing beside the Huangpu River, you can admire one of the most impressive city views in China — historic European-style buildings on one side and the futuristic skyscrapers of Lujiazui on the other. Your guide will introduce the stories behind Shanghai's transformation from a trading port into a global financial center.

Before returning to your hotel, your guide can help you choose the best viewpoint for photos and recommend evening activities if you would like to continue exploring Shanghai at night.

Questions About the Itinerary

Hello, the itinerary looks exactly like the kind of Guizhou experience we are looking for. We would love to explore the local villages and learn more about Miao and Dong culture instead of just visiting the popular attractions. I have a few questions before booking:
1. Since some villages seem quite remote, how comfortable is the transportation between each destination?
2. Will we have opportunities to interact with local people and experience the traditional ceremonies?

Hi Marlowe,
Thank you for your message! We are happy to hear that this Guizhou itinerary matches what you are looking for. This route is specially designed for travelers who want to experience the authentic side of Guizhou, including traditional villages, local crafts, and ethnic culture.
Please see our answers below:
1. We arrange a private vehicle with an experienced local driver throughout the journey. Although some Miao and Dong villages are located deep in the mountains, the roads are in good condition, and you can enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery comfortably between stops.
2. Yes, cultural interaction is one of the highlights of this tour. You will experience the Miao welcome ceremony with the 12-course "block-the-door wine," visit local craft workshops, and enjoy authentic village life in places like Huanggang and Zhaoxing.

We will also adjust the pace according to your preferences to make sure you enjoy the journey comfortably.

Combining Yangshuo Tour with Other Destinations

Hello, we are planning our China trip and would like to include Guilin and Yangshuo in our itinerary.
1. Is one day enough to see the highlights of Yangshuo?
2. Can this tour be combined with a visit to Longji Rice Terraces?
3. Would you recommend staying overnight in Yangshuo?

Hi Amara,
Thank you for your message! The ideal length of stay in Yangshuo depends on your travel style, but we're happy to share some suggestions.
1. A one-day trip is enough to experience the most iconic highlights, including the Yulong River scenery, West Street area, and countryside landscapes. It is a great option for travelers staying in Guilin with limited time.

2. Longji and Yangshuo are located in different directions, so combining both in one day would make the schedule too rushed. We usually recommend arranging them as separate day trips or adding an extra night.

3. If you have more time, staying overnight allows you to enjoy Yangshuo's relaxed evening atmosphere, local restaurants, and countryside scenery without rushing back to Guilin.

Questions About Sunrise, Photography & Best Hiking Route

Hi, I'm planning a trip to Huangshan and this itinerary looks exactly like what I'm looking for. I'm especially interested in sunrise photography and the mountain scenery. I have a few questions before booking:
1. Which sunrise viewpoint would you recommend if we stay overnight on Huangshan Mountain?
2. Does the itinerary include places like Bright Summit and Xihai Scenic Area?
3. How much hiking is involved each day? I'm comfortable walking but would prefer a route with the best views rather than the most difficult trails.
4. What time do we usually start the hike on the second day?

Hi Isolde,
Thank you for your message! We're glad to hear that you're interested in this Huangshan journey. Huangshan is one of the best destinations in China for sunrise and landscape photography, and we'd be happy to help you arrange a route that balances beautiful views and comfortable walking.
1. The sunrise viewpoint depends on your hotel location and weather conditions, but popular options include Bright Summit and areas near Beihai.
2. Yes, we can adjust the route according to your interests. Bright Summit is one of Huangshan’s classic viewpoints, while Xihai Scenic Area offers some of the most dramatic mountain landscapes. We can recommend the best combination based on your hiking preference and available time.
3. The hiking distance depends on the route selected. The classic Back Mountain route after taking the Yungu Cable Car is relatively comfortable, while some areas such as Xihai involve more stairs and longer walking. Our guide can help adjust the pace during the tour.
4. Usually, we recommend starting early to enjoy the quieter mountain atmosphere and better lighting for photography. The exact timing will depend on the sunrise time and weather conditions.

We hope you enjoy capturing the most beautiful moments of Huangshan!

Perfect for pearl shopping with my family

We booked this tour because my mother wanted to buy a pearl necklace, and we didn’t feel confident going to Zhuji on our own. The journey from Hangzhou was very easy, and we appreciated being picked up directly from our hotel. The pearl market was huge with so many choices, from simple everyday jewelry to more elegant pieces. We enjoyed taking our time to look around instead of being rushed.
