Day 1: Beijing | Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park & Qianmen Street

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby and accompany you into the very heart of Beijing. The day begins at Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public squares in the world. Standing here, surrounded by monumental architecture and national landmarks, you'll immediately feel the scale of China's capital. While most visitors stop briefly for photographs, your guide will help bring the square's history and symbolism into context, offering insights that are often missed when exploring independently. From here, the imposing walls and golden rooftops of the Forbidden City begin to appear in the distance, drawing us naturally toward the next chapter of Beijing's story.

Passing through the Meridian Gate feels like stepping through a portal into another era. For nearly 500 years, this vast palace complex served as the political and ceremonial center of imperial China. As we move through its grand courtyards and palace halls, you'll hear stories of emperors, concubines, court politics and the daily rituals that once governed life behind these walls. Rather than rushing through every courtyard, our route focuses on the most fascinating sections while highlighting hidden details many visitors overlook—from symbolic roof decorations to architectural features designed to reinforce imperial authority. By the time we leave the palace, you'll understand why the Forbidden City remains one of the most extraordinary historical sites anywhere in the world.

After a busy morning, we'll pause for lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant near the old city area. Whether you're interested in traditional Beijing flavors or something lighter, your guide will happily offer recommendations tailored to your preferences.

After lunch, a short walk brings us to Jingshan Park. The climb to the summit is surprisingly gentle, and the reward is one of Beijing's most famous views. From the pavilion at the top, the entire Forbidden City stretches out below like a vast sea of golden roofs. This is often the moment when visitors truly grasp the scale of the imperial capital. Take a deep breath, enjoy the panoramic view and prepare your camera—this is one of the best photo opportunities of the entire trip.

As the afternoon softens into evening, we'll head toward Qianmen Street. Unlike the grandeur of the imperial city, Qianmen introduces a more human side of Beijing. Historic shopfronts, traditional architecture, local snacks and lively pedestrian streets create a completely different atmosphere. Wander at your own pace, sample local treats or simply enjoy watching the city transition from day to night. As lanterns begin to glow and the street comes alive, you'll see how Beijing effortlessly blends centuries of history with modern urban life.

After a full day exploring imperial Beijing, your driver will return you comfortably to your hotel for a well-earned evening of rest.

Day 2: Beijing | Badaling Great Wall, Bird’s Nest & Water Cube

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After hotel pickup, we'll leave the city skyline behind and head toward the mountains north of Beijing. As the road begins winding through greener landscapes, anticipation tends to build naturally. After all, you've probably seen the Great Wall in books, films and documentaries for years. The interesting part is that none of them quite prepare you for the moment it actually appears.

At Badaling, the Wall doesn't simply sit on top of the mountains—it seems to become part of them. Stone watchtowers rise from ridgelines, stairways disappear into the distance and every section looks like it was designed specifically for a postcard. Some visitors arrive determined to conquer every staircase. Others prefer to find a scenic watchtower and simply absorb the view. Both approaches are perfectly acceptable. This is your day, and our guides are happy to adjust the pace to match your travel style.

After spending the morning on one of humanity's most ambitious construction projects, lunch offers a welcome chance to rest and recharge.

Then comes an unexpected shift in scenery. A little over an hour later, you'll find yourself standing between the Bird's Nest and Water Cube, two structures that couldn't be more different from the Great Wall if they tried. Curved steel, modern design and Olympic history replace ancient stone and mountain fortresses. Together they tell a different chapter of Beijing's story—one focused not on emperors or armies, but on a city looking confidently toward the future.

As evening approaches, your driver will return you to the hotel, leaving you with a camera full of photographs and probably more steps than you originally planned.

Day 3: Beijing | Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace & Shichahai

Accommodation Accommodation:
N/A (Flexible, can be included based on your needs)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

By the third day, you've already seen imperial palaces and climbed the Great Wall. Today offers something a little different. After meeting your guide in the hotel lobby, we'll begin at the Temple of Heaven, where Beijing feels unusually calm. Beneath towering cypress trees, local residents gather for morning exercise, card games and conversations that seem completely unaffected by the pace of the modern city around them.

The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests naturally attracts attention, but the real charm often lies in the quieter moments between the major buildings. This is where you'll begin to understand why the temple was designed as more than architecture—it was a place intended to connect heaven, earth and the emperor himself.

The mood shifts again as we arrive at the Summer Palace. If the Forbidden City represented power, the Summer Palace represents escape. Lakes shimmer beneath the sunlight, painted corridors stretch beside the water and pavilions appear around almost every corner. It's the sort of place where you constantly find yourself slowing down, whether to admire a view, take a photograph or simply watch boats drift across Kunming Lake.

Following lunch, we'll save one of Beijing's most charming districts for last. Around Shichahai, the city's grand historical narrative gives way to everyday life. Willow branches sway over the lakes, bicycles glide through narrow lanes and hidden courtyards sit quietly behind grey brick walls. There is no rush here. The best way to experience Shichahai is simply to wander, observe and let the atmosphere do the work.

As the afternoon draws to a close, your driver will take you back to the hotel. Three days earlier, Beijing may have seemed impossibly large. By now, it will hopefully feel a little more familiar—less like a destination on a map and more like a city whose stories you've actually experienced.

A peaceful escape from Hangzhou

We wanted to visit Putuo Mountain but were worried about the complicated transportation connections from Hangzhou. This private tour made everything much easier. The driver picked us up from our hotel in the morning, helped us with the ferry transfer, and explained what to expect before arriving on the island. Putuo Mountain itself was beautiful and peaceful. Walking through the temples surrounded by trees and hearing the ocean nearby was a very special experience. We never felt rushed, which made the trip much more enjoyable.

Thank you, Elara! We're glad we could make your journey to Putuo Mountain smooth and relaxing. The ferry transfer can be confusing for first-time visitors, so we're happy that our team could take care of the details and let you focus on enjoying the temples, forests, and coastal scenery.

Questions about Putuo Island

Hi, I'm interested in this private tour because we would like to experience the cultural side of Putuo Island rather than just visit the famous spots. I have a few questions:
1. Are the temples on Putuo Island very crowded? Is there a better time of day to visit them?
2. Do we need to follow any special rules when visiting Buddhist temples?
3. Will we have time to enjoy the seaside scenery, or is the itinerary mainly focused on temples?

Hi Caelan,
Thank you for your questions! We really appreciate that you are interested in experiencing the deeper cultural side of Putuo Island. It is not only a Buddhist destination but also a beautiful island with forests, beaches, and coastal scenery.
1. The main temples, especially Puji Temple, can become busy during weekends and holiday periods. To provide a better experience, our guide will usually arrange the sightseeing order according to crowd levels and opening times, allowing you to enjoy quieter moments whenever possible.
2. There are no strict requirements for visitors, but we recommend dressing respectfully and keeping a quieter atmosphere inside the temples. Our guide will also explain some local customs and interesting stories behind the temples, making the visit more meaningful.
3. Absolutely. Besides temples, Putuo Island is famous for its beautiful coastline and natural landscapes. We will include time for seaside walks, scenic viewpoints, and relaxed moments by the ocean, so the experience is not only cultural but also enjoyable.

We would be happy to help you discover a more authentic side of Putuo Island!

One of the best nature trips we have taken in China

Guizhou was a fantastic choice for travelers who want something different from the usual China itinerary. Libo Xiaoqikong was like a natural paradise — clear rivers, waterfalls, and green forests everywhere.
The communication before the trip was excellent. The team answered our questions quickly and helped us prepare for the journey. During the tour, everything was organized but still felt flexible and personal.

A wonderful journey

We traveled as a family and were impressed by how smoothly everything was arranged. The route included beautiful landscapes but was not too exhausting. My favorite part was probably the evening in Huanggang Village. It was very different from the places we had visited before — quiet, traditional, and welcoming. We really enjoyed learning about Dong culture from our guide.
Thank you for making our Guizhou trip so comfortable and memorable.
