Day 1 Beijing: Qianmen & Dashilar Old Streets, Yangmeizhu Xiejie & Beijing Fang Cultural District

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Upon arrival in Beijing, your private driver will be waiting at the airport or railway station and transfer you directly to your hotel. After some time to settle in, we'll begin exploring a side of Beijing that many visitors never discover.

Our afternoon starts in the historic district surrounding Qianmen and Dashilar. Long before shopping malls and skyscrapers arrived, this was where merchants, craftsmen and travelers gathered outside the imperial city walls. Today, the neighborhood remains one of Beijing's most fascinating areas, where restored historic architecture stands beside family-run shops that have operated for generations.

As we wander through Dashilar and Yangmeizhu Xiejie, you'll encounter hidden bookstores, traditional tea houses, local snack vendors and beautifully preserved courtyard homes tucked away behind unassuming doorways. The atmosphere feels distinctly different from modern Beijing and offers a glimpse into the city's everyday life.

We'll continue to Beijing Fang, a creative cultural district where old architecture meets contemporary design. Here, traditional alleyways now house boutique cafés, galleries and artisan workshops, creating a fascinating blend of old and new.

As evening approaches, we'll stroll along part of Beijing's historic Central Axis. Illuminated city gates and historic buildings begin to glow against the evening sky, offering a wonderful introduction to the capital.

Dinner tonight features classic Beijing flavors at a carefully selected local restaurant before your driver returns you comfortably to your hotel.

Day 2 Beijing: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Beihai Park & Prince Gong’s Mansion

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel for a day that explores life inside and beyond the imperial court.

We begin at Tiananmen Square before entering the Forbidden City. For nearly 500 years, this vast palace complex served as the center of political power in China. As you walk through grand courtyards and magnificent throne halls, your guide will reveal stories of emperors, influential officials, royal ceremonies and palace intrigues that shaped the course of Chinese history. Rather than rushing through the main buildings, we'll take time to uncover the hidden meanings behind architectural details, symbolic decorations and carefully planned layouts that reflected imperial authority.

After leaving the palace, we'll walk to nearby Beihai Park. While the Forbidden City represents power, Beihai reveals how China's rulers sought beauty and tranquility. Centered around a picturesque lake, the park offers one of Beijing's most elegant landscapes. The white pagoda rising above Jade Flower Island creates a striking contrast against the surrounding water, while shaded pathways and historic pavilions invite a slower pace.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant overlooking one of Beijing's historic neighborhoods. In the afternoon, we'll visit Prince Gong's Mansion, one of the best-preserved aristocratic residences in China. Unlike the vast scale of the Forbidden City, this estate provides a more intimate glimpse into the lives of powerful noble families. Ornamental gardens, decorative courtyards and hidden pavilions reveal how wealth and influence were displayed away from public view.

As the day winds down, we'll continue to the nearby Shichahai area. Locals gather beside the lakes, cafés spill onto the waterfront and traditional courtyard homes create one of Beijing's most charming evening scenes. After dinner, your driver will escort you back to the hotel.

Day 3 Beijing → Guilin (by flight): Confucius Temple & Imperial Academy, Wudaoying Hutong & 798 Art District

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel and take you to one of Beijing's most overlooked treasures—the Confucius Temple and Imperial Academy. While emperors commanded armies and governed the empire from the Forbidden City, it was here that generations of scholars shaped China's intellectual foundations. Walking beneath ancient cypress trees that have stood for centuries, you'll discover a quieter side of Chinese history, one built not on military power but on education, philosophy and ambition. Inside the Imperial Academy, your guide will explain the famous examination system that allowed talented students from across the country to compete for positions in government. For hundreds of years, success here could transform an ordinary family into one of influence and prestige. The atmosphere feels worlds away from Beijing's busy streets. Stone tablets, elegant courtyards and historic lecture halls create a sense of calm rarely found in a modern capital city.

Before lunch, we'll continue to the nearby Wudaoying Hutong, one of Beijing's most charming cultural neighborhoods. Independent bookstores, artisan cafés and boutique shops now occupy beautifully restored courtyard houses, creating a fascinating blend of tradition and creativity.

After lunch, we'll experience a completely different side of the city at the famous 798 Art District. Once a collection of state-owned factories, the area has evolved into China's leading contemporary art center. Industrial warehouses now house galleries, design studios and creative spaces where China's newest generation of artists expresses its vision of the future.

By late afternoon, we'll transfer you to Beijing Airport for your flight to Guilin. Upon arrival, your local guide and driver will be waiting to welcome you. During the drive to your hotel, the city skyline gradually gives way to dramatic limestone peaks rising unexpectedly from the landscape.

The transition is remarkable. Just a few hours ago you were surrounded by imperial history. Now, you're entering one of the most beautiful natural regions in all of China.

Day 4 Guilin → Yangshuo: Li River Cruise & Yangshuo Countryside Exploration

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today is the day many travelers have been dreaming about long before arriving in China. After breakfast, your driver will transfer you from the hotel to the Zhujiang Pier, where you'll board your Li River Cruise to Yangshuo.

As the boat pulls away from Guilin, the scenery begins quietly. Then the mountains arrive. One after another, limestone peaks emerge from the mist, rising dramatically above bamboo forests and emerald waters. The landscape changes constantly, yet somehow becomes more beautiful with every bend in the river. It's easy to understand why Chinese poets and painters have celebrated this region for over a thousand years.

Unlike many scenic cruises around the world, the Li River feels remarkably untouched. Farmers work small riverside fields, fishermen glide across the water on bamboo rafts and tiny villages appear briefly before disappearing behind the mountains. A local lunch will be served onboard, but many guests find themselves spending most of the journey on the open deck, reluctant to miss a single view.

Upon arriving in Yangshuo, we'll skip the crowded tourist routes and head directly into the countryside. This afternoon is dedicated to exploring the quieter side of Yangshuo. Traveling along country roads, you'll pass rice paddies, lotus ponds, ancient villages and grazing water buffalo. The pace of life here feels refreshingly slow. We'll stop at several scenic viewpoints known primarily to local photographers, where the karst mountains create some of the most iconic landscapes in southern China.

As sunset approaches, we'll find one of our favorite riverside locations to watch the fading light transform the mountains into silhouettes.

After dinner, your driver will escort you to your Yangshuo hotel for check-in. Guests who wish to attend the Impression Liu Sanjie performance can be accompanied to and from the venue before returning to the hotel.

Day 5 Yangshuo → Guilin: Longji Rice Terraces & Minority Villages

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel and begin the scenic journey toward the Longji Rice Terraces. The drive itself offers a fascinating glimpse into rural Guangxi as winding mountain roads lead through forests, rivers and traditional villages.

Upon arrival, we'll begin exploring one of China's most spectacular cultural landscapes. For more than seven centuries, local communities have carved these terraces into the mountainsides, creating an extraordinary masterpiece that changes appearance with every season. Depending on the time of year, the terraces may shimmer with water, glow vibrant green or turn golden before harvest. We'll enjoy a leisurely walk along some of the most scenic sections, allowing plenty of time for photography and panoramic views.

Along the route, we'll visit villages inhabited by the Zhuang and Yao ethnic minorities. Here you'll learn about local customs, traditional architecture and ways of life that have remained closely connected to the mountains for generations. Lunch will feature authentic regional dishes prepared using fresh local ingredients sourced from the surrounding countryside.

By late afternoon, we'll begin the return journey to Guilin. Sit back and relax as your driver takes you comfortably back to the city. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred directly to your hotel, where the evening is free for you to enjoy at your own pace.

Day 6 Guilin: Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill & Departure

Accommodation Accommodation:
N/A (Flexible, can be included based on your needs)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Every great journey deserves a memorable ending. After breakfast and hotel checkout, we'll visit Reed Flute Cave, one of Guilin's oldest and most celebrated natural attractions.

From the outside, the entrance appears surprisingly modest. Inside, however, an entirely different world awaits. Over millions of years, nature has sculpted vast chambers filled with extraordinary limestone formations. Towering stalactites hang from the ceiling while crystal-like structures rise from the cave floor, creating scenes that resemble waterfalls, castles and mythical landscapes. As we explore the illuminated caverns, your guide will share the legends and stories that have surrounded this cave for centuries.

Following the visit, we'll enjoy a leisurely farewell lunch featuring local Guilin specialties.

Before heading to the airport, we'll make a final stop at Elephant Trunk Hill, the city's most recognizable landmark. Here, the famous limestone formation appears to dip its trunk into the river, creating the image that has become a symbol of Guilin itself. It's a fitting final photograph for a journey that has taken you from imperial Beijing to the poetic landscapes of southern China.

At the appropriate time, your private driver will transfer you to Guilin Airport or railway station and assist with departure arrangements. As you leave, you'll take home memories of two very different Chinas—one shaped by emperors, scholars and dynasties, the other defined by rivers, mountains and timeless rural beauty. Together, they tell a far richer story than either destination could tell alone.

A peaceful escape from Hangzhou

We wanted to visit Putuo Mountain but were worried about the complicated transportation connections from Hangzhou. This private tour made everything much easier. The driver picked us up from our hotel in the morning, helped us with the ferry transfer, and explained what to expect before arriving on the island. Putuo Mountain itself was beautiful and peaceful. Walking through the temples surrounded by trees and hearing the ocean nearby was a very special experience. We never felt rushed, which made the trip much more enjoyable.

Questions about Putuo Island

Hi, I'm interested in this private tour because we would like to experience the cultural side of Putuo Island rather than just visit the famous spots. I have a few questions:
1. Are the temples on Putuo Island very crowded? Is there a better time of day to visit them?
2. Do we need to follow any special rules when visiting Buddhist temples?
3. Will we have time to enjoy the seaside scenery, or is the itinerary mainly focused on temples?

Hi Caelan,
Thank you for your questions! We really appreciate that you are interested in experiencing the deeper cultural side of Putuo Island. It is not only a Buddhist destination but also a beautiful island with forests, beaches, and coastal scenery.
1. The main temples, especially Puji Temple, can become busy during weekends and holiday periods. To provide a better experience, our guide will usually arrange the sightseeing order according to crowd levels and opening times, allowing you to enjoy quieter moments whenever possible.
2. There are no strict requirements for visitors, but we recommend dressing respectfully and keeping a quieter atmosphere inside the temples. Our guide will also explain some local customs and interesting stories behind the temples, making the visit more meaningful.
3. Absolutely. Besides temples, Putuo Island is famous for its beautiful coastline and natural landscapes. We will include time for seaside walks, scenic viewpoints, and relaxed moments by the ocean, so the experience is not only cultural but also enjoyable.

We would be happy to help you discover a more authentic side of Putuo Island!

One of the best nature trips we have taken in China

Guizhou was a fantastic choice for travelers who want something different from the usual China itinerary. Libo Xiaoqikong was like a natural paradise — clear rivers, waterfalls, and green forests everywhere.
The communication before the trip was excellent. The team answered our questions quickly and helped us prepare for the journey. During the tour, everything was organized but still felt flexible and personal.

A wonderful journey

We traveled as a family and were impressed by how smoothly everything was arranged. The route included beautiful landscapes but was not too exhausting. My favorite part was probably the evening in Huanggang Village. It was very different from the places we had visited before — quiet, traditional, and welcoming. We really enjoyed learning about Dong culture from our guide.
Thank you for making our Guizhou trip so comfortable and memorable.
