Upon arrival in Hangzhou, your guide or driver will meet you at the airport or railway station and provide a comfortable transfer to your hotel for check-in. After settling in, the rest of the day is free at leisure, giving you time to relax after your journey or begin exploring the city at your own pace—whether it's a nearby street, local dining, or a gentle evening walk.
Start your day with a visit to the iconic West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the symbol of Hangzhou. Enjoy a relaxing boat cruise across the tranquil waters, taking in famous sights such as the picturesque causeways and the elegant “Three Pools Mirroring the Moon.”
After the cruise, take a short lakeside walk to fully appreciate the poetic beauty that has inspired Chinese artists and poets for centuries.
Continue to the peaceful Lingyin Temple, one of the most important and historic Buddhist temples in China. Explore the temple complex surrounded by lush forested hills, and visit nearby Feilai Peak, known for its ancient stone Buddha carvings. The serene atmosphere offers a glimpse into traditional Chinese spirituality and architecture.
After lunch, head to Meijiawu Tea Village, located in the heart of the famous Longjing (Dragon Well) tea region. Walk through the tea plantations, learn about traditional tea processing, and enjoy a tea tasting experience with freshly brewed Longjing green tea. This is a perfect opportunity to slow down and connect with local culture.
End your day at Hefang Historical Street, a lively area filled with traditional architecture, local snacks, handicrafts, and souvenir shops. Stroll through the vibrant street, sample local delicacies, and experience the everyday life and culture of Hangzhou.
Optional Evening Experience – Impression West Lake Show
In the evening, you may choose to watch Impression West Lake Show, a spectacular open-air performance directed by renowned filmmaker Zhang Yimou. Set directly on the waters of West Lake, the show combines music, light, dance, and natural scenery to create a truly unforgettable experience.
Start your day with a peaceful escape into nature at Xixi National Wetland Park, one of China's first national wetland parks.
Take a scenic boat ride through winding waterways lined with reeds and traditional houses, and enjoy a relaxing walk along wooden paths. Compared to the busy West Lake, Xixi offers a quieter and more immersive natural experience.
Continue to the historical Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, the world's longest man-made waterway and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the area around Gongchen Bridge, one of the most iconic spots along the canal, where you can experience the blend of ancient architecture and local daily life.
Explore one or two nearby museums, such as:
China Grand Canal Museum
China Knife Scissors and Sword Museum
These museums provide fascinating insights into the history, craftsmanship, and cultural significance of the Grand Canal and Hangzhou's traditional industries.
In the late afternoon, transfer to the railway station and board a high-speed train to Suzhou (approx. 1.5 hours).
Upon arrival, your local driver will meet you at the station and transfer you to your hotel, marking the end of your Hangzhou exploration and the beginning of your Suzhou journey.
Start your day with a visit to Lingering Garden, one of the finest classical gardens in China and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous for its elegant layout, artistic rock formations, and beautiful pavilions, the garden perfectly reflects the aesthetics of traditional Chinese landscape design. Walking through its corridors and courtyards feels like stepping into a living painting.
Continue to Panmen Gate, the only well-preserved ancient city gate in Suzhou that integrates both land and water gates. Explore the historic city walls, bridges, and surrounding park area while learning about Suzhou's ancient defense system and canal-based city structure.
After lunch, visit Hanshan Temple, a historic Buddhist temple made famous by the classical Chinese poem “A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge.” Experience the peaceful atmosphere, see the ancient bell tower, and learn about the temple's cultural significance in Chinese literature and religion.
End your day at Shantang Street, one of the most charming historic streets in Suzhou. Lined with traditional houses, red lanterns, shops, and teahouses, the street comes alive in the evening. Enjoy a leisurely stroll, taste local snacks, or take an optional canal boat ride to soak in the romantic atmosphere of Jiangnan water towns.
After breakfast, depart from your hotel in Suzhou and enjoy a comfortable private transfer to Tongli Water Town (approx. 40–60 minutes).
Known as one of the most beautiful and authentic water towns in the Jiangnan region, Tongli is famous for its crisscrossing canals, stone bridges, and traditional Ming-Qing architecture.
Begin your exploration with a leisurely walking tour through the narrow stone streets and canals. During the visit, you will experience:
Ancient residential courtyards
Small bridges over peaceful waterways
Local daily life in a historic setting
Optional Activity:
Traditional wooden boat ride through the canals (highly recommended)
After the visit, transfer back to Suzhou city. According to your travel schedule: Transfer to Suzhou Railway Station for high-speed train departure or Transfer to Shanghai City/Airport
Your journey ends with comfortable and efficient transportation arranged to your next destination.

2. Yes, cultural interaction is one of the highlights of this tour. You will experience the Miao welcome ceremony with the 12-course "block-the-door wine," visit local craft workshops, and enjoy authentic village life in places like Huanggang and Zhaoxing.

Combining Yangshuo Tour with Other Destinations
Hi Amara,
Thank you for your message! The ideal length of stay in Yangshuo depends on your travel style, but we're happy to share some suggestions.
1. A one-day trip is enough to experience the most iconic highlights, including the Yulong River scenery, West Street area, and countryside landscapes. It is a great option for travelers staying in Guilin with limited time.
2. Longji and Yangshuo are located in different directions, so combining both in one day would make the schedule too rushed. We usually recommend arranging them as separate day trips or adding an extra night.
3. If you have more time, staying overnight allows you to enjoy Yangshuo's relaxed evening atmosphere, local restaurants, and countryside scenery without rushing back to Guilin.
Questions About Sunrise, Photography & Best Hiking Route
Hi Isolde,
Thank you for your message! We're glad to hear that you're interested in this Huangshan journey. Huangshan is one of the best destinations in China for sunrise and landscape photography, and we'd be happy to help you arrange a route that balances beautiful views and comfortable walking.
1. The sunrise viewpoint depends on your hotel location and weather conditions, but popular options include Bright Summit and areas near Beihai.
2. Yes, we can adjust the route according to your interests. Bright Summit is one of Huangshan’s classic viewpoints, while Xihai Scenic Area offers some of the most dramatic mountain landscapes. We can recommend the best combination based on your hiking preference and available time.
3. The hiking distance depends on the route selected. The classic Back Mountain route after taking the Yungu Cable Car is relatively comfortable, while some areas such as Xihai involve more stairs and longer walking. Our guide can help adjust the pace during the tour.
4. Usually, we recommend starting early to enjoy the quieter mountain atmosphere and better lighting for photography. The exact timing will depend on the sunrise time and weather conditions.
We hope you enjoy capturing the most beautiful moments of Huangshan!
