Day 1 Arrive in Shanghai, transfer to the hotel by our driver, free & easy

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Welcome to Shanghai! Upon your arrival at Shanghai Airport, your private guide will be waiting to greet you and provide a smooth transfer to your hotel. From the moment you step out of the arrival hall, we'll take care of the details—so you don't need to worry about navigating transportation, finding your way around, or handling the first-day logistics in a new city. Your private vehicle will transfer you directly to your hotel in downtown Shanghai. Along the way, your guide will introduce the city, explain your itinerary, answer any questions, and share practical local tips, from mobile payments to navigating Shanghai like a local.

Depending on your arrival time, we'll happily suggest nearby restaurants, cafés, or evening walks around your hotel. If you arrive early enough, we can also recommend optional attractions to make the most of your first day.

After check-in, the remainder of the day is yours to relax and recover from your flight. A good night's rest will prepare you for the exciting journey ahead.

Day 2 Shanghai to Suzhou by High-Speed Train: Humble Administrator's Garden, Pingjiang Road & Shantang Street

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel and accompany you to Shanghai Railway Station. Thanks to our advance ticket booking, you'll board one of China's fast and comfortable high-speed trains, arriving in Suzhou in about 30 minutes.

Upon arrival, your local guide and driver will be waiting outside the station, allowing you to begin sightseeing immediately without wasting time finding transportation.

Your first stop is the Humble Administrator's Garden, the finest example of a classical Chinese garden. Rather than simply walking through beautiful scenery, your guide will explain why every bridge, pavilion, rockery, and lotus pond was carefully designed to express harmony between architecture and nature. You'll soon understand why Suzhou gardens have inspired scholars and painters for centuries.

Leaving the peaceful garden behind, continue to Pingjiang Road, the oldest preserved street in Suzhou. The narrow stone lanes, flowing canals, and whitewashed houses create a completely different atmosphere from modern Shanghai. Instead of rushing through, we'll take time to wander the quieter alleyways where locals still live, discovering bookstores, traditional teahouses, embroidery studios, and small family-run cafés tucked beside the canals.

Around noon, enjoy a leisurely lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant. Depending on your preferences, you may try Suzhou specialties such as Squirrel Mandarin Fish, stir-fried river shrimp, seasonal vegetables, or delicate Suzhou-style noodles.

In the afternoon, head to Shantang Street, often called "the most beautiful ancient street in Suzhou." The canals become livelier here, with traditional wooden boats gliding beneath graceful stone bridges. While many visitors only stay near the entrance, your guide will lead you deeper into the historic neighborhood, sharing stories about merchants, poets, and everyday life during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Before returning, there's time to browse local handicraft shops or enjoy a cup of Suzhou's famous Biluochun tea if you'd like.

Your guide will then escort you back to Suzhou Railway Station for your return high-speed train to Shanghai. Upon arrival, your Shanghai driver will be waiting at the station to transfer you comfortably back to your hotel.

Day 3 Shanghai to Nanjing by High-Speed Train: Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Ming Xiaoling & Confucius Temple

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today you'll discover another side of East China as you travel to one of China's ancient capitals. After breakfast, we'll once again pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. The high-speed train reaches Nanjing in approximately one and a half hours, making it an easy and comfortable day trip.

Upon arrival, your local guide will meet you at the station before heading toward the scenic Purple Mountain area.

Your morning begins at the magnificent Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. The long ceremonial staircase may look challenging, but your guide will help you take the climb at a comfortable pace while explaining why Dr. Sun Yat-sen remains one of the most respected figures in modern Chinese history. As you reach the top, sweeping views over forests and the city reward your efforts.

Just a short drive away lies the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, resting place of the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. Walking along the Sacred Way, lined with enormous stone animals and officials, feels almost cinematic. Rather than simply seeing ancient monuments, you'll hear fascinating stories about imperial rituals, feng shui, and the construction techniques that have preserved these structures for over six centuries.

Lunch is arranged at a quality local restaurant where you can sample authentic Nanjing cuisine. Salted duck, duck blood vermicelli soup, seasonal vegetables, and handmade dumplings are among the local favorites, though vegetarian and halal-friendly options can also be arranged upon request.

In the afternoon, the atmosphere changes completely as you visit the lively Confucius Temple (Fuzimiao) district. Historic architecture, riverside walkways, colorful shops, and traditional snacks make this one of Nanjing's most enjoyable places to explore. Your guide will show you quieter lanes beyond the busiest streets, helping you discover hidden corners that many independent visitors overlook.

After a full day of sightseeing, return to Nanjing Railway Station for your high-speed train back to Shanghai. Your Shanghai driver will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 4 Shanghai: The Bund, Yu Garden, Old Town & French Concession

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today is dedicated to discovering both the historic and modern sides of Shanghai. After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel before beginning a carefully paced exploration of the city's most iconic neighborhoods.

Start your morning at Yu Garden, a beautifully preserved Ming Dynasty garden hidden within the heart of Shanghai's Old Town. While the garden itself offers peaceful ponds, pavilions, and zigzag bridges, your guide will also explain how classical Chinese gardens were designed to create an illusion of endless space within relatively small courtyards.

Just outside lies the bustling Old Town Bazaar, where traditional architecture, local snack stalls, and artisan shops create a lively contrast to the calm inside the garden. Rather than simply passing through, your guide will introduce local specialties worth trying and point out shops that locals actually recommend.

Lunch is served at a carefully selected restaurant featuring authentic Shanghai cuisine. Depending on the season, you may enjoy dishes such as braised pork, drunken chicken, fresh river fish, or soup dumplings.

In the afternoon, continue to The Bund, Shanghai's famous waterfront promenade. As you stroll along the Huangpu River, your guide will help you understand why European-style buildings stand opposite the futuristic skyline of Pudong, telling the remarkable story of Shanghai's transformation from treaty port to global metropolis.

To finish the day, slow the pace with a walk through the leafy streets of the French Concession. Hidden cafés, historic villas, boutique stores, and quiet neighborhoods reveal a side of Shanghai many first-time visitors never experience.

After sightseeing, we'll escort you back to your hotel.

Day 5 Shanghai: Shanghai Tower, Tianzifang & Departure

Your final day offers one last opportunity to experience Shanghai before heading home. After checking out of your hotel, your guide will meet you and store your luggage safely in the vehicle, allowing you to explore comfortably before your departure.

Begin with Shanghai Tower, China's tallest building. The high-speed elevator carries you to the observation deck in less than a minute, where breathtaking panoramic views stretch across the Huangpu River, The Bund, and the endless city skyline.

Next, head to Tianzifang, one of Shanghai's most creative neighborhoods. Unlike traditional tourist streets, its maze of narrow lanes combines restored Shikumen architecture with independent galleries, design studios, cafés, and artisan boutiques. It's the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed final stroll and perhaps pick up a unique souvenir before leaving China.

Enjoy your farewell lunch at a local restaurant, celebrating the final flavors of Shanghai before your journey home.

When it's time to depart, your private driver will transfer you directly to Shanghai International Airport according to your flight schedule. Your guide will assist with check-in procedures before saying goodbye.

We hope this journey has shown you not only the famous landmarks of Shanghai, Suzhou, and Nanjing, but also the stories, local experiences, and thoughtful service that make traveling with us feel effortless from beginning to end.

Much more fun than I expected

I booked this mostly because my husband is obsessed with anything involving AI, but I ended up enjoying it just as much. The driverless taxi was the biggest surprise — sitting inside and watching the car make its own decisions felt a little strange at first! The robot dog was also hilarious. Our guide explained things without making it feel like a technology lecture, which I really appreciated.

Thanks, Eamon! We love hearing that the tour surprised you in the best way. The driverless taxi can feel a little odd at first, but once you settle in, it's a pretty memorable experience. Glad you both had fun exploring Shenzhen's tech side!

The trains made the route surprisingly easy

I had never traveled around China by high-speed train before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Once we got the hang of it, it was actually one of the easiest parts of the trip. Having someone meet us at the stations was especially helpful because some of the stations are enormous. We could just get off the train, find our driver and move on.

Thanks, Marlowe! Glad to hear our train journeys turned out to be easier than expected. Those big stations can definitely feel a bit overwhelming at first, so it's great to hear that having our driver there made things smoother. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the trip!

A Photographer's Kind of Day

If you like old architecture, bring a camera. Badaguan was probably my favorite part because every street seemed to have a slightly different look. The church and railway station were also great photo stops. I liked that the tour wasn't only about famous sights — there was plenty of time to notice small details along the way.

Thanks, Soren! We're delighted that the architectural side of Qingdao caught your eye. The city has so many small details that are easy to miss when you're in a hurry.

Definitely earned its reputation

I knew Mount Tai would be the big highlight for me, but it was still better than expected. The views kept changing as we went higher, and there was something really special about seeing the old temples and inscriptions along the mountain. The whole trip was also very well organized. We had enough time at each place without feeling like we were constantly watching the clock.
